Amsterdam, August 18, 2022 – Shell Downstream Commercial will start on September 1, 2022 with the move to the multi-tenant office building Delftse Poort right next to NS Station Rotterdam Central. Last year, the company concluded a lease with lessor CBRE Investment Management on behalf of the CBRE Dutch Office Platform for the lease of approximately 7,250 m2. Shell Downstream Commercial is now located in the Rotterdam Central Business District at Weena 70, close to the Hofplein in Rotterdam.

Shell is renting a total of 8 floors in Delftse Poort, divided over three towers. There will be good connections between these towers, such as an overhead bridge between towers B and C.
Jeanine Bakx, director of Mobility Benelux and France at Shell, says about the move: “It is important to us to be in the most accessible place in the city in a sustainable, healthy and dynamic building. In Delftse Poort we are located right next to Rotterdam Central Station, in an office that meets high sustainability and welfare standards and is equipped with numerous services and facilities. A place focused on meeting, collaborating and inspiring.”

Delftse Poort has a Breeam In-Use sustainability certificate and is Well-certified. It is also the first office building in the Benelux to be WiredScore Platinum certified. WiredScore is the label that evaluates and certifies building connectivity. The office, with a total area of almost 66,000 m2, houses a variety of companies, ranging from established corporates, ambitious startups, entrepreneurs, SMEs and non-profit organizations. In addition to hospitality services and its own conference center, Delftse Poort offers an extensive package of shared facilities such as flexible workplaces, a private gym, meeting rooms and f&b and catering facilities and ample parking options for cars and bicycles. Last year their own community app was launched to strengthen the sense of community. With this app, users can place an order at the restaurant, access convenience services such as dry cleaning, and sign up for events.
Jaap Snellen, Head of Asset Management Offices at CBRE Investment Management: “We are extremely proud of Shell’s choice for Delftse Poort. We have invested heavily in the building in recent years, in the field of sustainability, well-being, connectivity, but also with services and facilities. You have a dynamic place here that allows you to really distinguish yourself as an organization, to current employees, but certainly also in the labor market. You won’t find better accessibility right at the station and outside you are immediately in the heart of the city. With the lease to Shell, Delftse Poort is let more than 90%.”
