Bacardi Nederland

Don Facundo Bacardí Massó founded Bacardi in 1862 with the purchase of a small distillery in Santiago de Cuba. There, he revolutionized the rum-making process and created a smooth, light spirit that the world now knows as Bacardí rum.

Today, the company has grown into a multinational with many brands under its wing, including Bombay Sapphire gin, Grey Goose vodka, St-Germain liqueur and Martini, the original Italian vermouth since 1863.

The figures behind Bacardi are impressive: a history spanning more than 163 years, the largest privately held spirits company in the world, a family business for seven generations, with its headquarters in Bermuda.

What brings them to Rotterdam? Business unit director Merlijn van de Ven explains that Bacardi Netherlands chose its own office in Delftse Poort because:

“The office is extremely easy to reach, which also helps reduce our impact on the planet. Its city-center location means we are close to many of our customers — the bars and restaurants serving cocktails with our brands. That provides valuable insights. The view is fantastic, and we even have our own Bacardi bar here. It’s the perfect space to host events for our local team and our clients.”
